Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT TYPE OF SKIN CARE PRODUCTS DO YOU USE?
We primarily use Sanitas, Babor and Doctor Babor during and after our facials. For some specialty masks or seasonal treatments we incorporate products from other handpicked companies. You can rest assured that we only use products we would use on ourselves!
WILL I BREAK OUT AFTER A FACIAL?
The skin care products we use are customized for your skin type so you should not have a breakout. However, occasionally, as the skin purges old build-up and debris after a professional cleansing you may have a spot come up. The best thing to do is leave this alone and continue your good skin care routine.
CAN I PUT MAKEUP ON AFTER A FACIAL?
You can go about your day as normal after any facial.
CAN I GO IN THE SUN AFTER A FACIAL?
If you had a Vita Detox Facial we recommend waiting 24 hours before going in the sun due to the intense exfoliation and increased skin sensitivity. Any time you will be in the sun, we recommend applying a facial sunscreen to avoid sun damage.
WILL MY FACE BE RED AFTER A FACIAL?
After most facials your skin will not be red or blotchy. However, after extractions there may be some redness depending on your level of skin sensitivity.
MY SKIN IS SENSITIVE, CAN I STILL HAVE A FACIAL?
Yes! We have products that are gentle enough for a baby that will work on anyone with sensitive skin. Please let your skin therapist know your concerns before the facial begins so they will be able to choose the best products to suit your needs.
IS THE THERAPIST LICENSED?
All of our therapists are licensed by the state of Tennessee.
CAN I REQUEST A FEMALE/MALE THERAPIST?
Your comfort is always our top priority so please feel free to request a female or male therapist.
WHAT DO I WEAR DURING THE MASSAGE?
It is appropriate to undress completely for a massage, however your comfort is our top priority. You will be covered at all times with a sheet and blanket. The therapist will uncover the area they are working on (back, leg, arm, etc.) and cover it back before moving on to another area. Feel free to discuss any concerns you have with your therapist before your treatment.
WHAT AREA OF THE BODIES ARE MASSAGED?
A full-body massage covers back, neck, scalp, front and back of legs, feet, arms, and hands. You may request longer on a specific area, such as the back, and we will be happy to spend less time on other areas during the treatment time. Any 25-minute massage will be focused on 1-2 areas listed above, such as the back and neck, depending on your needs.
WHAT TYPE OF NAIL POLISH DO YOU USE?
We use CND Vinylux, CND Shellac, OPI and Gelish polishes. Each type of polish has it’s own benefits. Please feel free to ask your Nail Technician what would be best for your lifestyle.
HOW DO YOU SANITIZE NAIL IMPLEMENTS AND PEDICURE SPA BOWLS?
We proudly use OPI Spa Complete for all our spa sanitation needs. OPI Spa Complete is an EPA registered product that is: a cleaner, fungicide, mildewstat, virucide, deodorizer, staphylocidal, pseudomonacidal, bactericidal, and salmonellacidal when used appropriately. Implements such as nail clippers are soaked, after they are washed, for 10 minutes then rinsed between each guest. Pedicure Bowls are drained, refilled with clean water and 5ozs Spa Complete (1oz per gallon), then the jets are run for 10 minutes, then wiped out, between each guest. We schedule time between each guest to allow for cleaning and sanitizing procedures. If you have any further questions about our sanitizing procedures please contact us.
Pregnancy –
Let our staff know if you are pregnant or nursing when making your spa reservations. We are happy to make any adjustments to our treatments to make sure you are comfortable during this special time. We will avoid using all essential oils, hot packs, hot stones, and recommend not using our sauna. We have found it best to limit massage time to no more than 50 minutes for the mother’s comfort. Please consult your physician if you have any concerns. You must be through your first trimester to receive this massage.
